Gloucester Crime Prevention Panel work closely with other voluntary and statutory groups to help prevent crime in the City of Gloucester.

We do this in many ways such as :

  • Specific events to mark property with the owners postcode and house number

  • Bicycle coding

  • Mobile phone coding

  • Advice and information stands at community events

  • Door to door help and advice in areas where specific crime has risen

  • Bulk purchase of simple Crime Prevention products to re-sale at an extremely low price

We hold a formal meeting on the third Monday of every month at 7pm which normally lasts one and a half hours. At this meeting we plan our future events, are appraised of our current available funds by the treasurer and receive an overview of crime in the City.

The events that we generate ourselves are usually held on a Saturday and are from 11 am to 1pm.

Events that we are asked to attend by other community groups do last longer and we generally organise a rota so that one or two members do not do all the work.

Every year we have a Christmas social event in place of the December meeting. This is also for partners and is an extremely happy gathering.

As you can see, while we are a very active group it does not take up a huge amount of time or commitment. We are always looking for new members so if you would like to help reduce crime in Gloucester in a practical and fun way then please contact Roy or Kevin.
